Justin Hon

Justin Hon is a seasoned professional in the field of risk management with years of experience across various financial institutions. His roles have consistently revolved around risk analytics, comprehensive reporting, and the design of control strategies tailored to meet regulatory demands. Currently, Justin manages a Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) risk production team at Barclays. His latest project centers on implementing US Basel (BCBS) regulatory rules, with the aim of ensuring compliance with the regulatory framework while maintaining a focus on producing high-quality outcomes.
Before joining Barclays, Justin served as a team lead at Morgan Stanley, overseeing a market risk control team responsible for Value-at-Risk (VaR) Backtesting and a range of other pivotal regulatory initiatives. During his time at Bank of America, he led a Quant team, leveraging their expertise to implement and report on Risk-Not-in-VaR (RNiV). Additionally, he took on the role of liaising with regulators, facilitating comprehensive assessments of the firm's market risk models.
In his academic pursuits, alongside his graduate studies, Justin holds graduate certificates from Boston University and New York University, showcasing his specialized expertise in Financial Markets and Financial Risk Management. Beyond his professional achievements, Justin is equally passionate about coding and is the creative force behind an Android app designed to support differently abled students on their learning journeys.
