Juliana Ruiz Escobar

Juliana entered Pirañas Crew in 2018 with the desire to collaborate with women and collectively respond to injustices. “It is important to me to express myself and not remain silent about injustices. During Colombia’s armed conflict I felt frustrated, you live fear of what is happening outside and are paralyzed because you cannot do anything about it. But with Pirañas we can raise our voices against violence. We share the same ideals and feel the urgency to do something – together we are stronger and can do more.” In 2023, Juliana made the short film titled ‘The City of Friends’ depicting Pirañas Crew and the feminist street art platform ‘Girls to the Front.’
