Helena Lorentzen
ANCoRS Outreach Officer | M.S. in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
Helena Lorentzen is a current student in the M.S. in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (NECR) program at Columbia University and serves as the Outreach Officer of the student group Association for Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (ANCoRS).
Helena has spent over a decade working at the intersection of peacebuilding, diplomacy, and community engagement. She is the Executive Director of FPCD Norway (The Norwegian Association for Post Conflict Development), where she leads initiatives on peace, human rights, and sustainability in collaboration with sister organizations in New York and Monaco.
Her international work includes internships with the United Nations in New York and Brussels, as well as service on the Outreach Subcommittee for the 2024 UN Civil Society Conference in Nairobi. She has contributed to global civil society advocacy through the Civil 7 process of the G7 and represented FPCD and C7 as a media delegate at the 2025 G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada. She also co-founded Echoes of Civil Society, a worldwide initiative amplifying citizen-led action toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
In addition to her professional leadership, Helena has undertaken extensive meditation training across Europe and Asia. She is completing her certification in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, integrating trauma-informed approaches into her work on resilience and community development.
Building on this background, Helena is now pursuing graduate studies in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution at Columbia University, where she serves as Outreach Officer for ANCoRS and is committed to connecting students with global dialogue on peace, diplomacy, and civic action.
