Dr. Lee Bycel
Executive Coach; Visiting Professor at USF; Author
Dr. Lee Bycel has devoted his career to teaching, mentoring, and coaching people from all sectors. A graduate of UC Berkeley, he earned his doctorate from the Claremont School of Theology. He spent decades in senior leadership positions (CEO and President) as well as moderating many leadership seminars for corporate, government, and educational executives at the Aspen and Federal Executive Institutes. He is deeply committed and passionate about working with others in their growth and development as leaders. He is the Sinton Visiting Professor at the University of San Francisco and a Lecturer at UC Berkeley in Leadership and Communications. Lee feels strongly about giving back to society and his volunteer work includes his current role as Vice-Chair of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities, and he previously served for five years on the Board of United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. He is an author who strongly believes that every person has a powerful story and, in his book, Refugees in America: Stories of Courage, Resilience, and Hope, the stories of eleven human beings are described and uplifted. He has a certificate from the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute and strongly believes that coaching fosters tremendous professional and personal growth. He currently divides his time between teaching, coaching, and his four grandchildren.
