Doug Shagam is a trailblazer in the world of people analytics and strategic workforce planning.  As the Head of People Data & Insights at Johnson & Johnson, Doug leads transformative initiatives that empower leaders to make smarter, data-driven decisions about their workforce. 

Before stepping into his current role, Doug served as the Director of Strategic Workforce Planning & Organizational Enablement at Johnson & Johnson. He joined the company’s People Analytics team in 2018 after a decade at Nielsen, where he held pivotal roles across business lines and global locations. Whether as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt driving business transformation or as a leader delivering cutting-edge analytics solutions, Doug has consistently leveraged data to unlock organizational potential. 

Doug’s journey began at General Electric in their prestigious Financial Management Program (FMP), followed by a role at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he spearheaded organizational change initiatives. His diverse experiences have shaped his unique ability to combine technical expertise with strategic vision.

A sought-after keynote speaker and recognized thought leader, Doug frequently shares insights at global conferences and has been featured on numerous Top 10 HR Influencers lists, podcasts, and in leading HR and technology publications. His passion for advancing the field extends to academia—he teaches courses on talent analytics and human capital management as an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University, New York University (NYU), and Lehigh University.

Doug holds a BS in Chemistry, a BA in Political Science, and an MBA in Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His multidisciplinary background fuels his innovative approach to solving today’s most pressing workforce challenges.
