DJ Koessler (’14SPS)

DJ Koessler is a communications strategist and digital advisor to political candidates, advocacy organizations, cultural figures, and brands. A veteran of three presidential campaigns—Buttigieg 2020, Clinton 2016, and Obama 2012—DJ led social media, influencer engagement, and digital rapid response for Pete Buttigieg’s historic primary effort. He honed his skills at Blue State, then went on to build and lead high-performing teams at Climate Power and Stand Up America.

Along the way, DJ has helped raise hundreds of millions online for candidates and causes, produced content that’s driven millions of views, won major policy fights, and written in the voices of globally recognized policymakers, entertainers, and athletes.

A native Michigander, he holds degrees from Grand Valley State University and Columbia University, where he returned as a capstone advisor in the strategic communication program.
