Divine Adeniyi
Columbia SPS CUNY Fellow | Baruch College (Class of 2024)
Divine Adeniyi is a Program Assistant at the Volcker Alliance, where she supports initiatives that strengthen the public sector workforce and expand youth engagement in public service. She graduated summa cum laude from Baruch College with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Law and Policy. At Baruch, Divine served as a Leadership Development Coordinator, sat on the Strategic Planning Committee, held leadership roles in Undergraduate Student Government and the Pre-Law Society, and represented the college in the Model New York State Senate Session. Her professional experiences include work with the Brookings Institution, the Ford Foundation, Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, and the Borgen Project, where she focused on issues ranging from election law and governance to development and human rights.
As a first-generation immigrant from Nigeria, Divine has seen firsthand how governance failures and unresolved conflicts shape communities. This perspective motivated her pursuit of a Master’s in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, where she is deepening her expertise in mediation, peacebuilding, and collaborative problem-solving. She hopes to apply these tools toward her long-term goal of working in international arbitration, with a focus on advancing sustainable development and conflict resolution across the Global South.
