Dave Bartholomew

Dave Bartholomew is a Risk Management professional with over twenty years' experience in Insurance and Financial Services.
Currently, Dave is responsible for the Operational Risk, Model Risk Management, IT Risk, and Internal Control functions of the Institutional Division at Pacific Life, a Fortune 500 leader in life insurance and annuities based in Newport Beach, California. Dave also served as Director, Internal Audit with Pacific Life where he had responsibility for leading the domestic operational and integrated internal audit plan.
Prior to joining Pacific Life, Dave had a more than twenty-year tenure with CUNA Mutual Group, the insurance and financial services provider for US credit unions and their 110+ million members. As Director of Governance, Risk & Assurance, Dave led the board and corporate governance team, the internal audit function, and various components of the ERM program. In this position, he was responsible for implementing the enterprise risk monitoring process, which included designing the roles, building the team, and implementing the processes necessary to monitor risks consistently across the company, drive assurance activities, and comply with new regulatory requirements. He subsequently led the integration of risk management activities within the strategy management system and the implementation of a quantification model for strategic and operational risks.
Prior to his roles in risk management, Dave served in roles in financial reporting, financial and operational analysis , IT management, and system development. Dave currently holds Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designations. He resides in Orange County, CA, with his wife and two cats.
