Darryl Wagner

Lecturer, Actuarial Science

Darryl is a globally experienced dynamic Financial Services senior executive, specialized and skilled in valuing and measuring performance of insurance business; process and organizational design, implementation, and evaluation; and advising senior business leaders in the context of ongoing operations, M&A or reinsurance transactions, and litigation. His insurance capabilities encompass a broad spectrum of life and annuity, property & casualty, and healthcare, and range from technical actuarial expertise to broad operational and transformational experience and insights. Darryl recently retired from Deloitte where he led client service teams as well as the firm’s US and Global Actuarial Practices. He holds a B.S in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska, is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

“After many years as of involvement with the Columbia Actuarial Science program as a Proseminar speaker and Integrated Projects mentor, I’m excited to be joining the faculty team as a Lecturer. I will endeavor to make sure our curriculum stays current with industry trends and needs and to help students realize value from this program to further their careers,” said Darryl. “The strength of the program has historically been the professional development of our students, and I plan to continue providing our students with the highest-quality career support.”
