Ciaran McGuinness

Ciaran McGuinness holds the position of Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Senior Director at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), he oversees the entire ERM function, dedicating his expertise to the identification and mitigation of risks across the organization. His work ensures the firm's resilience and strategic risk alignment, safeguarding its operations and reputation.

Boasting a tenure exceeding two decades, he has solidified his reputation as a seasoned professional in risk and corporate finance. His journey through the complexities of risk management has seen him leading the charge in the foundational establishment of the Risk Function at BCG. His breadth of experience spans the critical areas of First, Second, and Third Lines of Defense roles, demonstrating a versatile and comprehensive approach to managing organizational risk.

Throughout his career at BCG, he has undertaken various key positions, including Corporate Treasury and Head of Internal Assurance and Advisory (Internal Audit). These roles have not only underscored his diverse skill set but have also highlighted his ability to navigate and lead through the multifaceted challenges of corporate finance and risk management.

Further exemplifying his commitment to excellence and leadership within the firm, he also serves as Chief of Staff for BCG’s Audit and Risk Committee. In this capacity, he plays an instrumental role in steering the agenda towards addressing and mitigating underlying risks to the firm, ensuring strategic oversight and governance of risk management practices.

Ciaran is an alumnus of Columbia University, where he earned a Masters of Enterprise Risk Management (top 5 student), enriching his knowledge and skills in the field. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from Boston College Carroll School of Management, and an undergraduate degree in Finance & Accounting from University College Dublin, Ireland.
