Cheryl Hoops Fisher

Lecturer, Strategic Communication

Cheryl Hoops Fisher blends over two decades of private-sector leadership with higher education instruction. She specializes in driving brand innovation at the intersection of education, technology, and media—leveraging creativity and collaboration to solve challenges and lead accelerated growth for a diverse portfolio of global brands and clients.

Her work includes developing the award-winning brand strategy and creative vision for Lumio, a consumer-facing SaaS product by SMART Technologies, recognized as one of the most innovative brands in EdTech. As VP of Brand & Creative at The HelloMethod, she has scaled multiple education-focused organizations by building high-performing creative teams, driving innovation, and increasing engagement through data-informed marketing.

Cheryl’s research explores the evolving role of generative AI in teaching, learning, and organizational leadership. She is particularly interested in how emerging technologies are shaping learner confidence, motivation, and collaboration in both academic and professional environments.

In addition to AI and innovation, Cheryl also studies youth leadership development, with a focus on supporting young athletes as they transition into increasingly competitive environments. Her research examines how personality-informed approaches can build empathy, resilience, and self-awareness, empowering student-athletes to develop leadership skills and emotional intelligence both on and off the court.
