Cherie Henderson

Lecturer, Narrative Medicine

Cherie Henderson’s research explores what narratives of terminal illness can tell us about the cultural construction of death and dying. Publications include Columbia magazine, Intima, and Synapsis. Other work in the narrative medicine program includes hosting and curating the monthly Volvox forum for alumni and serving as faculty associate and post-graduate fellow. Her doctoral dissertation presentation was a top finisher in the campuswide Three-Minute Thesis competition. She also created and led writing workshops at Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer center. Previously, she was a staff editor and reporter at The Miami Herald and The Associated Press.
