Isabella Bennett is a 2025 HBCU Fellow at Columbia University, where she is pursuing a Master of Science in Bioethics. She is a proud graduate of Spelman College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Isabella is passionate about advancing equity in women’s health and addressing the systemic barriers that impact Black maternal outcomes. Her research experience includes working with the University of Pennsylvania’s Women’s Health Research Program, where she supported a study focused on improving contraceptive care in Accra, Ghana. At Spelman, she founded the Women’s Health Committee to connect students with mentorship and community-based opportunities in reproductive health. Isabella plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in women’s health, aiming to bridge research, ethics, and care to promote well-being for Black women and families.
