Azlina Wetmore

Head of Governance, Valuations, & Innovation, Capital One

Azlina Wetmore heads the Governance, Valuations, & Innovations organization covering Commercial Credit & Counterparty Risk Management activities within Capital One. In this role, Azlina has been driving transformational change on credit processes by leveraging data and technology.

Prior to joining Capital One in 2017, Azlina held several leadership positions in Credit Suisse America and Asia. In Credit Suisse US, Azlina led the Regulatory Risk Management, Governance, and Strategic Transformation organization for the Risk division. In this role, Azlina managed a variety of stakeholders including the US, UK, and Swiss regulators, Board of Directors, and the Lines of Business. Other roles in Credit Suisse US include being the Chief Operating Officer for the Investment Bank CRO and Head of Operational Risk Governance.

In Asia, Azlina implemented new business and products in multiple jurisdictions including Singapore, Hong Kong, India, and Australia covering the Investment Bank, Private Bank and Asset Management. She initially joined Credit Suisse as Head of Legal & Compliance in Malaysia.

Azlina has also been a regulator in Malaysia and a legal analyst in the United Kingdom.

Originally from Malaysia, Azlina studied law in the UK. She obtained her law degree from the University of Warwick and Masters in Commercial Law from the University of Cambridge.  She also qualified as a Barrister in England and Wales.
