Astrid Andre, JD, MPP

Astrid Andre is a Lecturer in Columbia University M.S. Nonprofit program who has over 20 years of experience working with not-for-profit organizations and government entities in the areas of affordable housing and economic development. She currently serves as General Counsel of Selfhelp Community Services, Inc. As General Counsel, she supports Selfhelp Realty Group, Inc., a not-for-profit organization focused on affordable housing for seniors.
Prior to her work at Selfhelp, Astrid served as Senior Counsel with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, a not-for-profit organization partnered with the City of New York to promote economic growth, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
In addition to her extensive legal experience, Astrid has worked as a policy director focused on advocacy for not-for-profit affordable housing developers and tenant organizing groups in the New York City area.
Astrid has been on faculty at New York Law School. She currently serves on boards of not-for-profit organizations focused on financial empowerment and sustaining positive social impact.
