Arthur Jensen, Ph.D.

Arthur has served as a faculty member teaching interpersonal, group, and organizational communication, primarily from the perspective of the coordinated management of meaning (CMM),and as an associate dean for academic affairs for 15 years, before retiring in 2019. As a board member of the CMM Institute for Personal and Social Evolution, he helped create the Cosmopolis2045 website (www.cosmopolis2045.com), and has written two recent books on cosmopolitan communication, Making Better Social Worlds, with Robyn Penman (2019) and A Call to Cosmopolitan Communication: A Narrative of Richness and Mystery (2020) as well as a chapter on cosmopolitan communication mindset and practices in Robyn Penman’s edited book, A Cosmopolitan Sensibility: Compelling Stories from a Communication Perspective. He is currently revising for an 8th edition, a long-standing textbook with Sarah Trenholm, Interpersonal Communication (Cognella, forthcoming in 2023). The new edition will have an extended focus on the role of interpersonal neurobiology and the mutual co-creation of brain, mind, and social relationships.
