Anyela Vanegas Arango

Feminist lawyer and researcher

Anyela's passion for street art, feminism, and activism led her to join Pirañas in 2018. In her practice as a lawyer specializing in gender issues, she observes daily the realities of gender-based violence and gender inequality. With Pirañas she feels that is possible to provoke change and make public claims about what is happening to women in the territories. “Pirañas is a place where I can think with my friends about preventing these structural problems and find ways to call them out. It is a place where I can think with like-minded people about how the world can be more just and equitable for us as women.” In 2022, Anyela graduated with a Master’s in Education and Human Rights with her thesis concerning the resistance practices of Pirañas Crew.
