Andy Whitehouse

Andy Whitehouse is a lecturer at Columbia University, where he teaches political communications and crisis communications. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University, teaching public sector crisis communications.
Previously, he was a senior partner at Penta Group, an information services and communications advisory firm, where he led client service teams and was the firm’s chief marketing officer. Andy founded Copperfield Advisory, a boutique consulting firm that Penta Group and Falfurrias Capital Partners acquired in 2023.
Before Copperfield, Andy served as the Chief Communications Officer of IBM (NYSE: IBM), Willis Group (NYSE: WSH), and McKinsey & Company. Prior to McKinsey, Andy was a UK government policymaker, leading teams in the Prime Minister’s Social Exclusion Unit, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, and the Department of Health.
Andy has served on the board of organizations including the Harlem-based Reading Team, and Broadway for All (winner of a 2022 Tony award). He was an assistant producer on a Grammy-winning Latin jazz album. He is a graduate of Christ Church, Oxford and Harvard University, and a 2013 recipient of the Distinguished Friend of Oxford University award.
