Alison Bird

Alison is a corporate attorney specializing in technology licensing and privacy law. She advises clients across all industries on technology transactions and internet law and helps them to develop privacy programs and comply with data security and privacy laws. As a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), Alison is particularly well-versed in helping clients develop enterprise-wide privacy programs and negotiate transactions involving privacy and data security risks. Alison has extensive experience working with cloud-based service providers and users of SaaS solutions and has helped them to navigate a variety of U.S. privacy laws such as the California Consumer Protection Act ("CCPA"), the New York Shield Act, New York State Department of Financial Services Cybersecurity Regulation, COPPA, and the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act. She has worked with clients to develop and negotiate core commercial agreements including master service agreements, subscription agreements, EULAs, SLAs, and other technology licensing arrangements with underlying security, privacy, and intellectual property concerns.
Ms. Bird is currently a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and has served on the Women in the Profession Committee of the New York City Bar Association, co-chairing the privacy subcommittee. Ms. Bird is formerly associated with Davis Polk & Wardwell and clerked for The Hon. Burton R. Lifland, Chief Judge, United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York. She co-founded the law firm of Turinas & Bird LLC.
