Adam Fisher
Lecturer, Sports Management; Executive Director, 78 Youth Sports
Adam Fisher is currently executive director of 78 Youth Sports, a nonprofit youth sports organization based in Brooklyn that is among the largest in New York City with baseball, basketball, softball, flag football leagues, camps, clinics, and travel teams. He has served in this position since 2018.
From 2003 to 2017, Fisher primarily worked in the front office of the New York Mets in multiple roles. As coordinator of amateur scouting, he helped oversee the Mets’ 2006 amateur draft that produced Daniel Murphy and Joe Smith. While manager of Baseball Operations a few years later, Fisher oversaw the Mets' analytics efforts and was an early supporter of many data companies that have become industry leaders, including TrackMan, Kinatrax and TruMedia. He also worked on numerous personnel moves that established the foundation of the Mets’ 2015 World Series team, including the free agent signing of Curtis Granderson and the trading of Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey to the Blue Jays, which brought back Noah Syndergaard and Travis d’Arnaud. Additionally, as Director of Baseball Operations in 2015, he managed the advance scouting efforts of the World Series team, working closely with the coaching staff. Fisher left professional baseball in 2017 after a stint as assistant general manager of the Atlanta Braves.
Fisher is a former panelist and contributor to SportsNet New York’s (SNY) show Baseball Night in New York. He has also appeared on the Mets Pre- and Post-Game Show, Mets Hot Stove on SNY, and MLB Now on MLB Network, in addition to numerous podcasts and radio programs.
Additionally, Fisher has guest lectured at the University of Pennsylvania to multiple graduate and undergraduate classes over the past decade about the economics of baseball.
Fisher graduated cum laude from Harvard University.
