Courtni Jeffers, M.S., M.P.H.

I have a master's in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University and an MPH from George Washington University. I have also earned a bachelor’s degree in medical humanities and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Indiana University, Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

I recently relocated to Maine from NYC and work with local medical systems to facilitate Literature in Medicine and Narrative Medicine workshops. Additionally, I work for the Center for Excellence in Public Health, out of University of New England.

My passions lie at the intersection of population health and individual well-being and my work reflects the ethical responsibility to both the content and the context of individual and community stories. My specialty areas of focus are social marketing, narrative competency, health literacy, community advocacy and equipping clinicians and patients to give and receive accounts of self in order to further healing.

I previously taught in the master's program at Columbia and have taught in the Certificate of Professional Achievement in Narrative Medicine since its inception. I also facilitate small groups for the Fall and Spring Narrative Medicine Workshops in NYC.
