Lizzette Soria

Think-a-Thon Mentor; Women's Policy Expert, Safe Cities, United Nations

Lizzette Soria is a Policy Specialist at UN Women, where she provides technical advice on gender mainstreaming at national and local levels. Her work focuses primarily on Gender-Based Violence, urban development, and infrastructure. Prior to joining UN Women, Soria has also worked as a gender expert, holding previous posts at the International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW), the World Resources Institute (WRI), Oxfam and the International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC).

Soria graduated in Urban Development from the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany, and was awarded the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and International Development from McGill University, Canada. When away from her desk, Soria loves exploring cities and diverse neighborhoods on her bike.
