An Urgent Coalition: Linking Civil Rights and Environmental Justice

The event tonight has been canceled.

How do we create a more fair and just society as we advance our environmental policies?

Jacqui Patterson, Senior Director of the NAACP’s Environmental and Climate Justice Program, will speak about how the nation’s largest and oldest civil rights organization is incorporating environmental advocacy into its ongoing human rights mission.

Patterson will be interviewed by Claudia Dreifus, a contributor to The New York Review of Books and Lecturer in the Master of Science in Sustainability Management program, as part of Dreifus’ "Writing About Global Science for the International Media" class, which, at the time it was developed, was one of the first courses in the country aimed at teaching scientists journalism skills.

Given the importance and relevance of the topic, all attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions for consideration in advance or during the event via live chat.
