James Murphy

Lecturer, Construction Administration; Senior Vice President PMCM BD Director Northeast, STV

James Murphy, PE, CCM, LEED BD+C is Senior Vice President PMCM BD Director Northeast at STV. He has 25 years of professional engineering, construction management, and program management experience and currently serves on the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) National Board of Directors.  Mr. Murphy provides comprehensive client oriented project leadership to meet a broad spectrum of technology, infrastructure, transportation and facility requirements. He has extensive, hands-on experience as a program executive, project manager, design engineer, and construction manager for sophisticated projects throughout the northeast region including mission critical facilities and emergency response facilities for New York City Fire Department and NYC Police Department.  He’s managed large infrastructure programs, big bridge and heavy highway design and construction for the NYC & NYS Departments of Transportation, has managed large programs for telecommunication and fiber optic infrastructure companies including AT&T Wireless and Metromedia Fiber Networks and managed co-location and data centers facilities for Allegiance Communications, Verizon and Level 3 Communications.  Additionally, he has managed programs for the US Army Corps of Engineers and General Services Administration.   Mr. Murphy gives public and private sector clients an informed, independent and in-depth analysis of their physical needs, capital requirements, and program initiatives to recognize synergies and help develop long-term strategies that optimize total cost of ownership. He prides himself on delivery excellence, quality assurance, performance, safety and situational awareness that provide value to his constituents and clients at all times.

Mr. Murphy has both, a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Finance from Manhattan College.
