American Language Program Co-Hosts Webinar for English Language Teachers on Remote Instruction

Some 60 participants from New York and across the country took part in an important and timely webinar offered by Columbia University's American Language Program (ALP) this week. 

ALP recently partnered with New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (NYS TESOL) to offer the webinar, "Teaching Academic Writing Remotely," on October 28, 2020. 

ALP Lecturer Babi Kruchin organized the event and featured several ALP Lecturers in Language as speakers, including:

  • Christopher Collins, "Promoting Cooperative Collaborative Learning in the Remote Learning Environment"
  • Lydia Fass, "Using a Google Doc as an Interactive Chalkboard in a Remote Classroom"
  • Brittany Ober, "Teaching Grammar in the Remote Academic Writing Context"
