Digital Debate: How to Recover When Machine Learning Goes Wrong

AI & Data Science in Trading Digital Week brings together experts in the use of AI and advanced data analytic techniques within asset management, primarily for finding alpha, managing risk and optimizing portfolios. During Digital Week, participants will be able to listen to inspiring keynotes, vigorous panel debates, message with other digital attendees, ask questions to leading AI and trading experts and set up one-to-one meetings with your colleagues, customers and suppliers.

On Wednesday, June 24, Day Three of this conference, Ben Steiner, Lecturer in the M.S. in Enterprise Risk Management program, will be speaking on a panel, "Digital Debate: How to Recover When Machine Learning Goes Wrong." The conversation will span the following topics:

  • Identifying at what point human intervention is necessary (When? Why? And what type of intervention is required?)
  • Avoiding building models on spurious relationships
