Mark Baker

Lecturer

Mark Baker is the Global Director of HR Analytics and Strategy for Abbott Labs. He has more than 15 years of leadership experience in developing and deploying talent and technology strategies to support corporate goals.

Throughout his career, Mark has led, developed, executed, and measured key initiatives including; human capital analytics and board-level reporting, enterprise human capital strategy development, workforce planning and integrated talent management processes, performance management modernization, employee survey evolution, and global HRIS management and strategy.

Prior to joining Abbott, Mark served in HR leadership positions at Lockheed Martin and FedEx for Workforce Strategy, Analytics, Reporting, Strategic Workforce Planning, Competitive Intelligence, Talent Acquisition and HRIS. He has also served as a global Strategic Program Office leader for FedEx’s organizational and technology transformation efforts and as the leader of FedEx’s global sales program office.

Mark has been a member of the Conference Board since 2011, with participation on Analytics, HRIS councils, and the executive council for Strategic Workforce Planning. He is a speaker on workforce topics, contributor to White House workforce business roundtables, and a thought leader in the field.

He volunteers as a state defense force personnel officer supporting the Air and Army National Guard and is certified as a military emergency management specialist by the State Guard Association of the United States.

Mark’s education includes a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Memphis, and a M.S. in Human Resource Development from Villanova University.
