Adrian Wolfberg, Ph.D.

Lecturer

Adrian Wolfberg, Ph.D., was initially trained as a naval officer, and spent most of his professional career as a Washington, D.C.-based federal employee, solving complex problems in the national security arena. This experience led to his doctoral work on the challenges of organizational learning in large, complex organizations. His research interests are focused on factors that facilitate or impinge upon organizational and individual learning and knowledge sharing.

A few years ago, Adrian created and led a unique internal consulting unit within the federal government called, the Knowledge Lab. Its purpose was to help frontline employees, middle managers, and executives “learn how to learn.” Over its six-year existence, the Knowledge Lab integrated various knowledge management-based intervention practices—gleaned from academia, industry, and other parts of the federal government—through action and participatory research of over 50 pilot projects, some lasting a couple of months, while some continued for five years.

Adrian has taught adult learners at the doctoral and masters level, and published the results of research in a variety of practitioner magazines and scholarly journals.
