In Memory of SPS Alumna Susan Chuang

By Francisco X. Pineda, M.B.A., M.P.A.

Academic Director, M.S. Construction Administration

Susan Chuang, an alumna of the School of Professional Studies’ M.S. in Construction Administration program, and a student at Columbia University’s School of Social Work, passed away on April 6, 2020, due to complications from COVID-19.

An article penned by the School of Social Work thoughtfully describes Susan’s profound dedication to her education, career, and family. Reflections from Dr. Melissa Begg, Dean of the Columbia School of Social Work, as well as Susan’s advisors and professors, bring to life Susan’s kind spirit and hard-working nature across her academic, professional and personal endeavors.

On behalf of the Construction Administration program, and all of us at the School of Professional Studies, we feel honored to have been a part of Susan’s life, and our thoughts are with her friends and family during this tragic time.

The Columbia University School of Social Work has created a space to share memories of MSW student Susan Chuang along with supportive words for Susan’s family and our community. If you would like to leave a tribute, please visit the page here.
