Brandee L. Waite, M.D.

Executive-in-Residence; Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Sports Medicine Fellowship, UC Davis

Brandee Waite, M.D. is the Director of Sports Medicine at UC Davis Health and a Professor at UC Davis School of Medicine. She is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and holds additional sub-specialty certifications in Sports Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. As a clinician and educator, Dr. Waite treats a wide range of athletes while also teaching at local schools and national conferences. She has worked as a team physician with U.S.A. Track & Field, the NBA and WNBA, the Sacramento Ballet, and currently serves a team physician for the Sacramento Republic FC professional soccer team and for UC Davis collegiate sports teams. She has directed the medical care for multiple marathons and ultra-marathons, including RacingThePlanet, an organization that sponsors international ultramarathons in extreme locations worldwide, from the Sahara Desert to Antarctica.

Even though Dr. Waite’s patient roster includes professional athletes, one of her main passions is helping everyone – regardless of fitness level – find a way to exercise. Prior to becoming a physician, she worked in the fitness industry at a leading international fitness resort and is developing a Lifestyle Medicine Program, combining aspects of injury prevention, exercise, nutrition and lifestyle choices to treat and prevent injury and disease in everyone from runners to ESports gamers to grandparents.
