BIM Evolution: What's Next?

Over time, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has evolved and proved more often than not to be an investment worth making. But can it go further?

Denis Leff, BIM Development Manager for Samsung C&T, examines how the introduction of smartphones, microprocessors, Near Field Communication technologies, Indoor Positioning Systems, GP(R)S, accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and the “Internet of Things” are creating new BIM integration possibilities to further enhance design, construction, and facilities management.

About the Speaker

Leff is a former Columbia University adjunct professor who designed and taught IT Advantages in Construction for the Master of Science in Construction Administration program. He spent 10 years working for (Bovis) Lend Lease in New York City as BIM/Logistics Director before moving to Seoul, South Korea, where he has spent the last five years developing unique approaches for Samsung C&T to utilize BIM though out their global projects. As a professional hobby, he enjoys developing software for desktop and mobile applications.
