Visualizing Sustainable Peace

Please join the Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict and Complexity (AC4) for a presentation and discussion about the Sustainable Peace Project, a multi-year science-policy-practice initiative that employs leading science and local community perspectives to enhance understanding of the conditions and core dynamics necessary for fostering sustainable peace.

In our world, specifying and achieving “sustainable peace” has too often proven to be elusive. This is in part due to challenges comprehending peace in complex societies as well as to our fragmented understanding about the conditions and processes conducive to sustainable peace. Through the Sustainable Peace Project, AC4 sees another way forward.

The Sustainable Peace Project takes a multidisciplinary approach with the project team holding expertise in social psychology, environmental science, communications, astrophysics, anthropology, philosophy, international education and development. Discussants include: Peter T. Coleman, Beth Fisher-Yoshida, Joshua Fisher, Jaclyn Donahue and Kristen Rucki, AC4, the Earth Institute, Columbia University; Larry S. Liebovitch, Queens College, City University of New York; Douglas P. Fry and Benjamin Maddox, the University of Alabama at Birmingham; Philippe Vandenbroeck, ShiftN; and Armando Geller, Scensei.

Please contact Jaclyn Donahue at jd3298 [[at]] columbia [[dot]] edu (jd3298[at]columbia[dot]edu) with questions or for additional information.
