Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Webinar: Mindful Language

Language frames our choices and decision-making, and often does so without our complete awareness.

Mindful language is a choice—we can use language to bind us to old conflicts and decision-making paradigms that no longer serve us as we deal with the challenges of the 21st century. Alternatively, we can choose to use it as a tool to bind us to each other and a more holistic perspective focused on sustainability, which goes beyond a simple profit focus.

In this webinar, presented by the Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies, Program Director Dr. Beth Fisher-Yoshida will be joined by Dr. Poonam Arora, Associate Professor of Manhattan College.
