Facilitating the Growth of Restorative Justice

“Restorative justice” and “restorative practices” have been finding their way into the modern lexicon as promising approaches to addressing harmful behavior and injustice.

Schools, community groups, and other organizations are using restorative justice and restorative practices to not only address harmful outcomes but also address the underlying causes that gave rise to those outcomes. Yet, how they go about doing so varies – sometimes greatly. This session explores the roots and emergence of those variations as well as its implications for the potential growth of restorative justice in the West.
