Alumnus Nikolas Katsimpras Talks About Harnessing the Power of Conflict

On Thursday, May 29, 2014, graduate of the master’s program in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Nikolas Katsimpras took the stage at the University of Pittsburgh to deliver his talk, "Harnessing the Power of Conflict."

In the presentation summary, he writes, "Progressive, innovative, and brilliant products require desiloisation – which creates conflict. The word 'conflict' may include cultural or lingual connotations of violence and destruction. However, once we harness its energy and steer it in a productive manner, then we can maximize our collective efficiency."

Although this devopsdays conference focuses on conflict within the context of software development, Columbia alumnus Katsimpras offers insights for anyone interested in workplace psychology.
