Carolyn Dunn

Lecturer, American Language Program

Carolyn Dunn has been teaching in the American Language Program since 2016.  She holds an A.B. in History of Art and Architecture from Brown University, an M.A. in TESOL from Teacher’s College, Columbia University, and a J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law.  At the ALP, she teaches in the Intensive English Program and has taught several specialized courses, such as Advanced Academic Preparation for Graduate Students, Business Writing and Writing for International and Public Affairs.  In addition to Columbia, Carolyn has taught at Pratt Institute, where she worked with students of art and art history, and at LaGuardia Community College.  Her teaching interests include extensive reading, materials design incorporating authentic texts, and advanced writing instruction.
