Effective immediately, access to the Morningside campus has been limited to students residing in residential buildings on campus (Carman, Furnald, John Jay, Hartley, Wallach, East Campus and Wien) and employees who provide essential services to campus buildings, labs and residential student life (for example, Dining, Public Safety, and building maintenance staff). ALP Lecturer Babi Kruchin Featured in VOA News

Babi Kruchin began her journey as an English teacher far away from New York City, at an after school program in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

In a new interview with Voice of America's Learning English vertical, Kruchin describes her journey from her Portuguese-speaking hometown to the Royal Society of Arts at Cambridge University to her current position as Lecturer in the American Language Program at Columbia University.

She details the skills required of top brass ESL teachers and clues listeners into the rewards that keep her going as both a teacher and a teacher trainer: “[I]t is intellectually stimulating, and you are involved with other people, and you can use your creativity. I think those would be my final words.”
