John Parkinson

Program Director & Lecturer in Discipline, Construction Administration

John Parkinson, scholar practitioner in the management and administration of complex projects, most recently served as the Executive Director of AIAI - the Association for the Improvement of American Infrastructure. He partnered to launch the non-profit, education and advocacy organization for the infrastructure sector, focused on developing and disseminating best practices for public private partnerships and private investment for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure in the transportation, buildings, energy, telecommunications and environmental sectors.

John was the founding Executive Director of the ULI – the Urban Land Institute, New York District Council, where he led and managed an educational outreach organization for the commercial real estate sector in the New York metropolitan region, and facilitated educational efforts in the Buffalo market, focused on sharing best practices in sustainability, infrastructure, housing, capital markets and real estate finance.

Prior work included providing technology and services to the commercial real estate industry. He has 30 years of professional leadership and management experience in organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 200 firms and the non-profit sector.

John graduated with merit from the United States Naval Academy, with a degree in engineering, and upon graduation received his commission in the United States Marine Corps. He earned his Master of Science degree from the University of Southern California, conferred with honors, from intensive studies in Information Systems Management.
