Karen LaRose

Lecturer, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

Karen LaRose is a mediator and business consultant working with startups, family businesses, and partnerships. She is currently developing a course for the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program that will be offered in Fall 2021. She earned her NECR master’s at Columbia University where her thesis took a look at “Families in Business: Conflict in a Dynamical System.” 

While studying at Columbia University, LaRose previously served as program coordinator and assistant researcher at Advanced Consortium on Cooperation, Conflict, and Complexity (AC4) at Columbia University, and as Research Assistant at the Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution. LaRose has taught at The Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterrey, and mediates with the Connecticut Children's Law Center in Hartford, CT. In addition to mediating and consulting, she currently serves as a part of the management team at a utility-focused technology startup, iRestore.

Prior to studying at Columbia, LaRose served as CEO of a business she co-founded with her sister and another partner providing financial services to Fortune 100 companies.
