Faculty Member Publishes Paper on Water Microgrids

Gregory Falco, lecturer and M.S. in Sustainability Management graduate (‘12), published “Water Microgrids: The Future of Water Infrastructure Resilience” in Procedia Engineering journal. He explains possible methods for better water resilience:

Microgrids are a potential solution that addresses aged [water] infrastructure concerns while also being potentially more cost effective. In addition, by leveraging legacy infrastructural components while developing a new system within the system, microgrids provide redundancy, fortify vulnerabilities and secure the resource supply chain.

In his paper, he investigates “parallel components of electric and water infrastructure to provide a vision for future resilient water microgrids.” Read Falco's article in its entirety at Procedia Engineering.
