Thomas Abdallah, P.E. is the Vice President Design Services and the Chief Environmental Engineer for the MTA’s Construction and Development (MTA C&D) agency. He provides engineering discipline resources for all capital projects, oversees Design Standards & Guidelines, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and all Code Compliance matters. Thomas holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University. As Chief Environmental Engineer he provides expert environmental engineering services for all MTA, is a fierce champion of environmental sustainability issues and is responsible for MTA C&D’s certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS). He is the proud author of the book Sustainable Mass Transit: Challenges and Opportunities in Urban Public Transportation (2017 Elsevier) 1st Edition. Thomas has appeared on Discovery Channel, PBS, NPR, Environmental Professionals Radio and a recent episode of History Channel’s Modern Marvels – Moving America.
