Celia Kapsomera

Celia Kapsomera is the Principal of CSK Insurance Risk Solutions based in the Greater Metropolitan NY area. She specializes in Strategic Planning and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) of Property and Casualty insurance and reinsurance companies. Until 2015 she was the Head of Financial Risk Management of AXA Liabilities Managers, Inc. (AXA LM), a reinsurance runoff manager in New York. Prior to that, she served as Vice President and Risk Manager of GLOBAL Reinsurance Corporation of America (GLOBAL Re), the US subsidiary in runoff of GLOBALE Rueck (f.k.a. Gerling Globale Rueckversicherungs) in New York, which was acquired by AXA LM. She was responsible for overall risk management and oversaw its investment activities. She has extensive experience in strategy, planning, reporting, research and analysis with over twenty years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry.

Prior to joining GLOBAL Re in 2005, she was a Vice President and Co-manager of the Corporate Reinsurance Security function at XL Global Services, Inc. Prior to that, she was a member of the Executive Team in charge of strategic planning activities at Gerling Global Re. She began her career in insurance at Continental Insurance in New Jersey and in reinsurance at Standard & Poor’s, followed by Swiss Re, in New York.

One of her professional interests is teaching strategic planning and enterprise risk management subjects and preparing the next generation of professionals in the ERM field. She thoroughly enjoys discussing with students and mentoring new entrants into the corporate world. She believes it is important to infuse classroom discussions with real life examples and experiences.

She has participated in conference panels and contributed to industry reports.
