Chris Kuo

Lecturer, Applied Analytics; Director of Data Science, The Hartford

Throughout his 20 years of leadership experience in advanced analytics at The Hartford, AIG, Liberty Mutual, and retail marketing analytics, Chris Kuo brings data science to customer analytics, risk segmentation, insurance pricing, underwriting, claims, workers compensation, fraud detection, and litigation.

In addition to teaching at Columbia University, he has taught graduate-level and undergraduate-level courses in mathematical finance, economics, and management at Boston University, University of New Hampshire, and Liberty University.

Kuo has been published in several economic and management journals. He also serves as a journal reviewer for publications including The Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance and the International Journal of Auditing.

Kuo earned the Charter Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU) designation in 2014.
