The Columbia University School of Professional Studies (SPS) is proud to announce the 2026–2027 cohort of Columbia SPS CUNY Fellows. The eight fellows are graduates of Baruch College, Brooklyn College, The City College of New York, Hunter College, Lehman College, Macaulay Honors College and Medgar Evers College, and are pursuing master’s degrees across eight programs at Columbia SPS.
“We are delighted to welcome this outstanding group of CUNY graduates to Columbia SPS,” said Columbia SPS Dean Troy Eggers. “Their academic achievements, leadership, and commitment to their communities exemplify the qualities we value at the School, and I look forward to seeing all they accomplish at Columbia.”
Now in its third year, the fellowship program was established to provide high-achieving recent City University of New York (CUNY) bachelor’s or master’s degree recipients access to Columbia’s academic, professional, and community resources. The fellowship provides a full-tuition scholarship for up to six semesters in one of the School’s graduate programs, helping remove a financial barrier to earning a master’s degree.
The following SPS students make up the 2026–2027 cohort of Columbia SPS CUNY Fellows:
- Alina Arias, Lehman College graduate, is pursuing an M.S. in Actuarial Science.
- Kadiatou Bah, Medgar Evers College graduate, is pursuing an M.S. in Applied Analytics.
- Kia Glean, Baruch College graduate, is pursuing an M.S. in Project Management.
- Anaya Huggins, Hunter College graduate, is pursuing an M.S. in Nonprofit Management.
- Cynthia Leung, Brooklyn College graduate, is pursuing an M.S. in Strategic Communication.
- Mariam Moazzam, Baruch College graduate, is pursuing an M.S. in Technology Management.
- Maisha Mohosheen, Hunter College graduate, is pursuing an M.S. in Narrative Medicine.
- Christian Velez, The City College of New York and Macaulay Honors College graduate, is pursuing an M.S. in Sustainability Management.
“This year’s fellows bring an impressive range of experiences, interests and perspectives to SPS,” said Senior Associate Dean of Student Affairs Zelon Crawford. “They have distinguished themselves not only through academic achievement, but also through leadership, service and a desire to make a meaningful impact in their fields and communities.”
The fellows come to SPS with backgrounds spanning healthcare and biomedical research, climate policy and sustainability, finance and technology, communications, project management, and nonprofit leadership. At Columbia SPS, they hope to build on these experiences and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to make an impact in their respective fields.
