Columbia HBCU Fellow 2026 | Morgan State University

Jade Nieves-Calderon is a 2026 HBCU Fellow at Columbia University pursuing her M.S. in Enterprise Risk Management. Jade graduated from Morgan State University with a B.S. in Finance, where she served as President of the National Association of Black Accountants, Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi, and Vice President of New York Communications Outreach for Black Achievers Network.

Additionally, Jade obtained vast internship, fellowship, and competition experience: Amazon Finance Leader, AT&T HBCU Innovation Challenge,  Boeing Scholar, CSIS Policy Fellowship, Duke University, Goldman Sachs 10KSB Intern, Hoya Hacks, Johns Hopkins SBA & LDP, Kiva Intern, NSN Sales Competition, The Washington Center Cybersecurity Accelerator Fellow, Wellington Management Intern and more.

During her college tenure, Jade started a resume revision and branding business which led to her helping college students and recent graduates obtain internships and jobs nationwide. She was able to create a client portfolio from various universities: Frostburg State University, Morgan State University, Southern New Hampshire University, UC Riverside, University of Iowa, and beyond. Jade currently serves as a Junior Board Member for Partnerships With Children.

As a first-generation college student and New York native, Jade desires to leave a legacy of equity and pave the way for underrepresented minorities in finance. Through Columbia and the HBCU Fellowship, Jade hopes to become a CFO and use her platform to create greater access and opportunities for the next generation.
