Madison Maxwell is a 2026 graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where she earned a B.S. in Biological Engineering. She is currently pursuing an M.S. in Sustainability Science at Columbia University as an HBCU Fellow.
While at North Carolina A&T, Madison became passionate about engaging with BIPOC communities through food justice initiatives. This passion inspired her to launch the East White Oak garden in Northeast Greensboro. Now, she is excited to learn from and collaborate with frontline communities across New York City. Madison hopes to continue her career in sustainability at the intersection of environmental justice and public health. She looks forward to making a meaningful impact during her time at Columbia.
