Columbia SPS Graduation 2026
Each year, Columbia University School of Professional Studies selects one exceptional graduate from each master’s program to serve as a student marshal at commencement, recognizing students for their academic excellence, leadership, and contributions to the SPS community.
At the 2026 Columbia SPS Graduation Ceremony, these student marshals proudly led their fellow graduates and carried their program banners as representatives of their cohorts.

Maxim LeFleur recently published “A Void Belonging” in Panorama: The Journal of Travel, Place, and Nature. The essay began as a draft in Claudia Dreifus's Writing About Global Science for the International Media course at Columbia SPS.

The assignment encourages students to engage with current issues and submit their writing for consideration by major national publications.
