Evan Roth Smith

Evan Roth Smith is a campaign consultant and pollster whose work includes federal, state, and local races, international opinion research, as well as independent expenditures and nonprofit advisory. As a founding partner of Slingshot Strategies, he has worked to grow the company from a boutique startup to a major firm with national and international clients. 

Evan has run polling, data, and targeting operations in every state and hundreds of districts, as well as France, Japan, Israel, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Canada, India, China, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. He has served as an advisor to campaigns and causes of all kinds, drawing on a breadth of experience across data analysis, media relations, and electoral projects to guide both day-to-day and strategic decision making. Outside of his electoral and political work, Evan has led and managed multimillion-dollar donor advisory initiatives in the nonprofit space, working with large donors to deliver resources for tailor-built projects premised on accountability and clear results.  

Evan is the coauthor of Putin's Master Plan (Encounter, 2016), a prescient book on Russian foreign policy ambitions researched and written in Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Estonia, Sweden, Moldova, Turkey, Mongolia, Greece, and the unrecognized breakaway territory of Transnistria.

Evan attended Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and is a lifelong Manhattanite.
