Kayla Urquhart works at the intersection of artificial intelligence, clean energy, and sustainability. Her work examines how emerging technologies shape governance, public institutions, and long-term societal outcomes, with a particular focus on accountability and the just energy transition.
She has led initiatives expanding clean energy access, strengthened cross-sector partnerships, and secured funding to advance mission-driven programs. Kayla serves as Energy Program Coordinator at The Energy Co-Op and is a 2025 Fellow of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute.
Her areas of expertise include climate justice, energy transitions and urban planning. She holds an MS in Environment, Politics & Development from SOAS University of London, where her research focused on pathways to a just energy transition.
