How Work from Intima’s Online Archive Became a Book

Over the last 14 years, the online Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine has published more than 1,200 works relating to the giving and receiving of care – poems and short stories, artwork and essays.

This spring a book will collect select pieces from that archive for a mainstream audience.

Donna Bulseco and Bruce Campbell will share the timetables and tasks, work and worry, highs and lows, joy and proofreading pain involved in creating a book from pre-existing material. They’ll also offer tips on submitting work for publication.
